The Clair Tappaan Lodge in Norden, CA an old style lodge built by a dedicated group of Sierra Club members in 1934. I heard about this place a few seasons ago and have been wanting to go and stay. The rooms (dormitory or family) include three meals a day. There is a sledding slope right next door and there is also a cross-country ski path. There is lots of space to build snow sculptures, snow forts, and play in the snow. The lodge rents snowshoes and XC skis.
