My son and I went to a fiddle camp and had midnight stone soup. The secret delicious annual recipe was the following:
Stone Minestrone soup:
Combine the following in soup pot:
3 tablespoons of base (better than bouillon base)
2- 28 oz. cans of diced tomatoes
2 cups water
1- 15 oz. can of kidney beans
1 diced onion
1- 16 oz. package of frozen mixed vegetables
1 teaspoon each of garlic powder and dry basil
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Bring to a boil, add 1 cup uncooked dried macaroni.
Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes. Makes 3 quarts of finished soup.
