We had the pan fried chicken thigh, which has melted cheese on top and several different salads (at least two of which prominently feature beets), and borscht. Both dishes were great. We plan to return soon.
Our blog explores what it is like to be a bungalow owner, and how to do-it-yourself if you're not really a do-it-yourself-er. We explore old bungalow living, report on bungalow events, and discuss craftsman-style bungalows -- without an *arts-and-crafts-style or die* attitude.

Mama Papa Lithuania Restaurant
We had a great lunchtime experience at Mama Papa Lithuania Restaurant in Alameda. It is reputed to be the only Lithuanian restaurant west of the Mississippi. The atmosphere was great - very warm, with lots of wood, including enormous chairs that seemed like they were made from tree trunks. The service was fantastic - very friendly and helpful explaining the interesting menu.
