Gluten Free and regular yummy options too at Market Hall Bakery in Rockridge, CA

I love the Market Hall Bakery!  They have a really yummy gluten free polenta pizza for $3.95.  Also, They have brazilian cheese bread rolls for $1.95.  They sell a yummy cracker with only seeds and cheese too! They also have lots of other standard bakery fare!

The Market Hall Bakery is right next to Highwire Coffee, where I love the Tipu's Masala chai. They also sell the chai separately.

Mama Papa Lithuania Restaurant

We had a great lunchtime experience at Mama Papa Lithuania Restaurant in Alameda.  It is reputed to be the only Lithuanian restaurant west of the Mississippi.  The atmosphere was great - very warm, with lots of wood, including enormous chairs that seemed like they were made from tree trunks.  The service was fantastic - very friendly and helpful explaining the interesting menu.

We had the pan fried chicken thigh, which has melted cheese on top and several different salads (at least two of which prominently feature beets), and borscht.  Both dishes were great.  We plan to return soon.

Children's first "computer"- Fisher Price Smart Tablet for ages 3 to 7 years.

This is a great first computer!  It isn't a huge amount of money so you do not have to worry about losing it like an iPad also it is very basic with letters, games, songs, etc.  On the box, it claims there is bilingual learning yet there are actually only numbers one through ten, no letters or songs that are bilingual.  I loved this for a trip my son and I did to Quincy, it kept him happy and busy for hours!

My son,who is six really enjoyed using it for a car trip, but after using it for only traveling this summer, I keep it in the car,  I think he will soon ready for amore advanced tablet. Yet, I love this because while traveling I didn't feel as worried about it as I would a conventional computer or iPad.  Also, when he is done with this, I'll donate it to a school or to another family.   I liked this too, as since it was summer, it was fun for my son to do activities that he could succeed at!   I do not like technology too early, so I would recommend this toy for children four and up.)

Recommended Fish Fertilizer for Outdoor plants

This fish fertilizer is great for outdoor plants, but beware as it does smell of fish even though it is deodorized with wintergreen oil.  I would not recommend it for indoor plants because of the smell.  This fertilizer seemed to really help our roses!  I need to get more!

Recommended place to fix a guitar in Alamada, CA

I found an excellent place to fix a guitar in the bay area. I took a guitar into Thin Man Music, in Alameda, CA that had a broken neck and I was only quoted $30.00. I highly recommend this place!

They do free tastings at this popcorn place!  My son really liked the cheese flavored popcorn during the tasting, but after a few bites he didn't want it anymore so he let me finish it.

The Broadmoor Hotel, From 1871 to present, in Colorado Springs, Colorado

I love the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado was built in 1871.   I went there in 2008 when my son was only a few months old, and it was his first time flying.   My husband had business there, so my son and I came along. I scooted my son around the beautiful five star property in his stroller, it was delightful!  I especially loved the Golden Bee Pub. It came to Broadmoor in 1901 as a collection of panels and fixtures from a 19th century English Pub.  In the pub, there is a ragtime piano player that entertains guests with rousing sing alongs.  The ale is even served in yards, interesting since Colorado Springs was once nicknamed "Little London."

Do not buy IKEA stainless steel pans - learn from me, they fall apart!

IKEA stainless steel pots are very cheap! I was cooking some veggies in one of the pots and the handle fell off.  That could have been a dangerous nightmare!  Take my advice from personal experience, though I love IKEA for many things, pots are not one of them!

Bootleggers - Auburn, CA

Bootleggers is a great place to visit in Auburn.  It is downtown and open for lunch.  It has brick walls.    A great place to escape the heat.
