San Francisco Maritime Museum

Our home was built in 1916, and sometimes I wonder what the San Francisco Bay Area was like at that time, in the months leading up to WWI.  I love to learn about the history of the area.

The Maritime Museum in San Francisco is a great place to explore maritime history.  There is even chantey singing on a sailing ship in the Hyde street Pier in SF from 8PM to midnight on the 1st Saturday of every month.  Call  415-561-7171 for reservations.

If you want to make a day or a weekend of it, there is a historic waterfront walking tour from 10:30-11:30AM in the Argonaut Hotel lobby.  This is a boutique hotel that I recommend.
