Our blog explores what it is like to be a bungalow owner, and how to do-it-yourself if you're not really a do-it-yourself-er. We explore old bungalow living, report on bungalow events, and discuss craftsman-style bungalows -- without an *arts-and-crafts-style or die* attitude.

Harvest Festival at Tara Firma
We had a great time at the First Annual Tara Firma Harvest Festival. Great atmosphere. Kids had the run of the farm. A band called the "Old Belles" played great tunes past sunset.

Best pumpkin pie in Oakland, CA - La Farine, Oakland, CA
Making pumpkin pie is an art, and La Farine has it perfected. I ordered our pie ahead this year at La Farine and picked it up on Wednesday! We had it for breakfast this morning with freshly homemade whipping cream! Yum! Happy Thanksgiving!

Randall Museum
The Randall Museum is a great place for kids. In the Duboce neighborhood in San Francisco, the museum has exhibits that include trains, earthquakes, and local wildlife. Kids can operate a model train on the third weekend of every odd month. Other exhibits are open all the time, including an exhibit with wildlife like rabbits, reptiles, birds, and even a raccoon. Above the museum is a beautiful (though steep) trail that leads to amazing views of San Francisco and the Bay.
