I love the city of Claremont more than I thought I would. We happened to be there on a Friday night this June and discovered a street festival with live music in two places, fountains, great restaurants, etc.
I have more to write about this town, so look out for more posts!
Our blog explores what it is like to be a bungalow owner, and how to do-it-yourself if you're not really a do-it-yourself-er. We explore old bungalow living, report on bungalow events, and discuss craftsman-style bungalows -- without an *arts-and-crafts-style or die* attitude.

Historic mansions still available for under $400,000 in Indian Village, Detroit, MI
I have always been in awe of the beautiful homes in Indian Village, a historic neighborhood in Detroit, MI. One home I saw on the website curbed, had 6 bedrooms and 5 bedrooms.

Recommended Cookbook for Children, Pretend Soup, by Mollie Katzen
I discovered the book, Pretend Soup, recently which is a cookbook designed for preschool children and above. I love the way the recipes are illustrated in pictures so a child doesn't need to read it or be read to in order to understand what to do next! The homemade recipe (no box mixes) is all laid out in pictures so my son told me he wanted to make them! I would love this book as a gift!

Rock Shop in Sebastopol, CA- gorgeous for displaying in bungalow!
I recently found out about an amazing rock shop from a rock collector! It is in Sebastopol and is called The Uncarved Block. I am taking my son there today as last weekend he started a rock collection after doing a mining class. Even after a week of jumpstarting his collection, we have rocks all over the house! I have to admit that I love the way the rocks look in our home, especially the crystals!
